The thin book of trust

By Charles Feltman

Recommended Read: 'The thin book of Trust' by Charles Feltman

 Charles Feltman’s definition of trust is referred and used by Brene Brown, ‘choosing to risk making something you value vulnerable to another person’s actions’.  If you are wanting to deepen your knowledge about trust and have a framework outlining the four dimensions of trust, then this is your book.  It is thin, insightful, clear and practical, providing a way to make trust more visible, build on it and how we can talk about it.

The four Dimensions of Trust are:

  • Care – we are in this together, consider the interest and opinion of the others, you trust that they want positive from you

  • Sincerity – I mean what I say and say what I mean and act accordingly, honesty and integrity

  • Reliability – you keep your promises, they can count on you;

  • Competency – I can do this and you have the ability to do it and to admit when you don’t know or you need help
